On a windy Monday night, the Stevie English team headed to Slide bar in Darlinghurst, Sydney, to see and hear about the latest creative efforts from the incredibly talented team from Rokk Ebony. Rokk Ebony have long been a respected Melbourne hairdressing institution, and we were stoked to have them come up and showcase some of their stunning looks.

When I think of Rokk Ebony, I think of Joey Scandizzo and Marie Uva, the creative directors. But on this trip, some of the other talent on the team was brought out to shine. Bilie Minio showed off some colour work, talking about a ‘marbled effect’ using Nutriessence. Steve Salemme produced a cool undercut style, and is known within the team as being a master with the scissors. Next was Aaron Chan who did three hair-up looks in record time, and showed off the Ozdare styling ranges to great effect. Finally, Anthony David did a dry men’s haircut, working with the natural texture of the hair.

Marie Uva was the MC for the evening and she really let the team show off their skills, whilst giving the audience some insight into the culture within Rokk Ebony and holding the show together nicely. It was well worth the effort to get there, and even with technical issues not quite going there way. I’m sure I’m not the only one who came away from the show feeling more than a little inspired. And all credit to Ozdare for moving an award winning team interstate.
