Dear Mr. Corthine:

My name is Paka Marín and I am an experienced hairdresser. Since 1992 I am teaching in a Vocational School for hairdresers and aestheticians in (Málaga) Spain for hairdresers and aestheticians.
Nowadays, the futur of hairdressers is in green salons and how to deal with enviromental and health problems caused by the use of chemicals and non ecological energies, and I have realiced in your web page that your bussiness is very update in that field.
I am looking forward for a training period in an enviromental friendly hairdressing salon where I could improve my skills and develop my knowledge about green products, natural resources and clean energies available for hairdressers,
and I´ve found out in your web that you own a business which matches all those characterithics and which is updated in that field.
As I have the opportunity of earning an european union schollarship for improving my professional competences through a formative stay in a company, I would be very grateful if I could stay in your bussiness, without any charge for you, along 3 months for my training.
If you are interested in this project, I would just need a collaborating company commitment declaration that I could send you to be filled in and signed.
I would be delighted to learn with you as well as to contribute to everydays work with my experience and knowledge.
If you need further information, don´t doubt in contact me.
Looking forward to hear from you:

Very an informative article and reader comments here. I would point out that other sites have made a varying angle, particularly in regards to natural health. Have you located more interesting information on the Internet, and will you point me in that direction?

Fantastic Article Stevie, Our salon recently started to use the Easydry Towels we purchased at Hair Expo and have no regrets with the use of this product. Throw out all the cotton towels I say !!

Thanks

Promoting the green agenda is great, well done Steve. Interestingly, Sublime use Easydry, makers of the original eco-friendly towel. Its md invented them five years ago. They are huge in Europe, where they are from and since June have been available in Australia. As well as being eco-friendly, they are also brilliantly absorbent, hygienic, convenient and save on storage. L'Oréal, Wella, Toni & Guy are big fans, as are award-winning salons like Andrew Collinge, Paterson SA and Hooker & Young.

Thanks Gavin and thank you Sharon
The fact that the client can make their trip to the salon climate neutral. Qantas do it, why not your hairdresser? Gives the power back to the client to make a real difference. I love this idea.
As to water saving biodegradable towels wow, our industry is really making new and exciting steps to combat climate change.
If there is anything anyone would like to know regarding how you can make a difference in the salon, or whats the best, quickest way of making a difference drop me a line here at Prohairstylist
thanks

I can see that things are changing here in Australia, which is great to see. I was at the launch of Sublime Hairdressing last night – when Paula Kelly and Paul Foote announced their new green carbon offset policy, where clients can offset the cost of their cut and colour for 5 or 10 cents extra. Great choice for clients I thought and a very innovative step forward for the industry.

Good story Stevie, keep up the great work.

Great story, Stevie.
Not too sure how many salon are aware that at Hair Expo I launched the Big Towel Company; Our company can now offering 100% biodegradable, highly absorbent, disposable hairdressing towels.
We have been testing them for about five months in our salons and the staff and client love them. Not having to wash towels mean no excess water usage, lower electricity bills and fewer chemicals down the drain not to mention wage saving. Our salons are saving around 42% on laundry costs now.
They are made from wood fibers that come from certified renewable forrests and the beauty of the towels is they break down with in the environment in less than 6 weeks.
check out the web site for more info.

I love to hear when someone has just bought the best and new eco-friendly washing machine, every little bit helps.
