Filed under : Hair Expo 2009, News

It’s time. The largest hairdressing event in the Southern Hemisphere and most talked about industry event in the world is back and set to be more glamorous and polished than ever before. When the doors open on the 6th of June at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, expect to see world-class exhibitors, hairdressing stars, education and business seminars plus more for your money than ever before.

Top stylists and educators from around the globe will touch down in Sydney to bring us the best hairdressing has to offer. Up to 30,000 industry professionals and members of the public are expected at the weekend’s events, enjoying over 10,000 square metres of the best the hair, beauty and fashion worlds have to offer.

This year’s highlights include hairdressing heavyweights Toni Mascolo, Kevin Murphy and Jayne Wild, salon teams from American Crew, Toni&Guy International and Mahogany UK as well as the return of leading brand Schwarzkopf and the welcome of newcomer Aveda to the floor. 2009 is abuzz with global talent, making it a hub for trends and a benchmark for education.

Julia Erben, Hair Expo Event Director says; “In these tough economic times, everyone’s investments need to work harder than ever before. That’s why Hair Expo 2009 will deliver maximum bang for your buck! As usual, we’ll be bringing you the top stylists and visionaries from around the globe, but more than ever we’ll be working hard to constantly add value. Look out for the expanded, free Hair Expo Stage program, the bonuses available in the apprentice packs and extra business seminars. We want to demonstrate our support for the amazing industry that supports us.”

EXHIBITION FEATURES: HAIR EXPO STAGE AND BUSINESS UPDATES

The Hair Expo Stage is a must-see this year. With a huge program of local stars and international heroes, stop by the stage to see demonstrations from stage exclusive talent and glimpses of seminar artists. An array of top stylists, colourists and industry leaders will be showcasing their visions and trends through live demonstrations every hour, including Shane Henning, Adam Noble, Clive Allwright, Karine Jackson, and other renowned artists from Matrix, Schwarzkopf, Aveda, and Eco Hair Products.

Another complimentary feature inside the exhibition are the business update sessions which touch on subjects such as marketing, motivation, and efficiency. Speakers include Gita McKenna and John Shields.

NEWS JUST IN – GALA EVENTS

The gala night wheel will start spinning with the sought-after Opening Spectacular on Saturday June 6th, when Jayne Wild and TONI&GUY International present their visions for the coming season with awe inspiring shows.

Matrix and Hair Expo continue their long term partnership, with Matrix also this year becoming the main sponsor of Sunday night’s Generation Next gala event and the Premier Partner of Hair Expo 2009. Sponsoring the Generation Next gala evening on June 7 is Matrix’s demonstration of their support for up and coming industry talent. This prestigious event, which features the work of Australia’s next generation of artists, culminates in a show-stopping headline performance from Matrix.

As in previous years, Matrix will continue to be a focal point of the exhibition floor with a dynamic stage featuring regular demonstrations from the Matrix team.  In support of Hair Expo’s continued commitment to education, Matrix will also lend the skills, knowledge and ideas of their top artists to the Hair Expo seminar program.

Another highlight of the weekend will be the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Awards ceremony, dinner and after party on June 8. The alliance also means the return of Schwarzkopf Professional to the exhibition floor over the June long weekend.

CREATIVE SEMINARS AND BUSINESS EDUCATION

Take your pick of the many top tier seminars available this year. Join the American Crew All Stars US and Australian teams, Kevin Murphy and session teams, Sharon Blain, Jayne Wild or the Toni&Guy International Artistic Team, be one step ahead of the pack for new styles, and learn up close and personal from your heroes.

Brand new this year is the ‘Award Winning Creativity’ seminar featuring current Australian Hairdresser of the Year, Jayne Wild, alongside Sharon Blain, Gary Latham, David Glover, Benni Tognini and Andrew O’Toole, dishing all the inside tips on how they have won in the past.
