é SALON Apprentices announced as 2009/2010 F.A.M.E. Team Members
In front of an audience of their peers at the 2009 Hair Expo Australia, é SALON apprentices Lisa Muscat and Leah White, were among 10 stylists from around Australia announced as members of the 2009/2010 F.A.M.E Team.
The Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence (F.A.M.E.) Team is a prestigious program dedicated to educating and growing the most talented young hairdressers in the Australian industry to an international standard.
It’s also a tool for the selected young stylists to hone their craft and network with a who’s who of international hairdressing, through the Fellowship’s extensive contacts.
“For someone who is so passionate about her industry, being selected as a member of the 2009 F.A.M.E. Team is such an honour and great recognition of my abilities,” says Lisa. “I am a driven person and one that is eager to learn at every possible opportunity – the F.A.M.E team will be an amazing experience!”
“I’ve seen firsthand the wealth of experience stylists have gained from being on the F.A.M.E. Team, and how it really boosts your confidence as a person, a stylist, and as an on-stage presenter,” says Leah. “To be included in the 2009 F.A.M.E Team is the ideal opportunity for me to explore, learn, have fun and satisfy my craving for pushing the boundaries, and pushing my personal goals and expectations to the limit.”
Now for Lisa & Leah, their inclusion on the team presents an opportunity of a lifetime! In addition to receiving product and onstage education, and creating a photographic collection under the guidance of renowned photographer Andrew O’Toole, they will also present live on the Australian F.A.M.E Team tour, and at Salon International in London in October 2009.
To enter the competition, stylists were required to submit a photographic collection and press pack to be judged by an esteemed panel, from which the 10 finalists were chosen for the completion of the competition in Sydney at Hair Expo on the June long weekend. At Hair Expo, the finalists presented a model on stage, to be judged on hair, stage presentation, and live performance, before going into an interview process with the judges.
