American Crew established the FACE OFF competition in 2003 as a way for salons and stylists across Australia to profile their most unique, masculine and fashion forward hairstyles for men in black and white photographic format, which is then judged by American Crew in the United States (US).
A crowd of over 700 guests were entertained by a Crew-inspired fashion parade featuring the Arthur Galan AG 2008/2009 Spring/Summer collection, modelled by 20 male models from The Men’s Division. The parade featured Galan’s signature stylish, clean-cut looks and elegant casual wear, with sleek American Crew hair styles to match.
Guests included a ‘who’s who’ of the hairdressing and fashion worlds; with Arthur and Mimi Galan, White Suede’s Jacqui Demkiw, Rokk Ebony’s Joey Scandizzo, Gaelan Walker and GQ Editor Nick Smith enjoying the champagne and canapés on offer.
Smith also presented the awards to the enthusiastic audience. Finalists were from across Australia, including Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria, and included:

The three winners of FACE OFF will be announced at an official function in Melbourne in February 2009. The winners will each win a trip to the United States for five days, staying at the legendary Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, to take part in their very own American Crew photo shoot with none other than American Crew founder, David Raccuglia.
The winners will also receive editorial for their exclusive photo shoot in GQ and renowned trade publication, Culture.
The three successful photographers will each receive Motorola’s latest camera phone to make sure they never stop snapping pics of the best do’s!

The winning model will win a two year modelling contract with top agency The Men’s Division.
