We said we’d be adding more Contributors to the site and here’s another brilliant hairdresser to share their adventures. Rod Anker is an Australian abroad, he is currently in the position of Creative Director for Kim Robinson Salon for India. Just a year ago he was doing his thing in Melbourne. Now his life is a precession of WOW! moments. Rod will be posting here on regular basis to share his amazing hairdressing adventures…
Who Cares About The Environment?
I do, but who’s with me?
Hairdressing salons are not known for being Green. Our energy consumption is high, to say the least. When you think about air-conditioning in summer, heating in winter, hairdryers going all day, lighting, towel washing and drying, you get the picture.
To succeed in the race to attract and retain the highest quality staff, salons need to engage “New World “ employees in an environment that they know and understand. If we don`t, then we would see an increasing number of discontented staff that result in low quality performance and high staff turnover.
Salon Marketing can be a bottomless pit. Below I have outlined the 8 most important things to consider when doing an in-salon promotion that will save you money and ensure that the promotion is not only successful but that it has long term positive effects on your bottom line.
Almost every salon owner I speak with says they want to attract more new clients through
the door. I bet many of you are nodding your beautifully styled heads and thinking, “yep,
me too”. New clients through the door are like some kind of Holy Grail. My question is,
“Why?”
This will be the first installment in an ongoing review of the Excellent Edges ‘Fish Kit’ scissors. So what is my first impression as I unwrap this box of goodies…
I would like to give some pointers, ideas and food for thought when writing a letter of application’s, resume’s, cold calling and interviews for an apprenticeship. Most great hairdressing jobs are not advertised. It is important to be prepared to target your ideal work place.
