I thought Wigs were banned from this comp… Looks like this is another rigged hairdressing comp. SHAME… ps the word will spread very quickly… YOur comp doesnt mean anything when CHEATS are FINALISTS

  2. CarlK says:

    umm… OK.
Not sure about your comments but everyone is entitled top their own thoughts of course.

Does that mean you’ve seen the finalists collections then?
    If so where?
As I haven’t seen any so far, besides our own of course.

    Please share.

  3. private says:

I would like to see the finalist collections too, I’m a finalist and I haven’t seen them yet either… Wigs where banned, yes, but you could still use wefts to bulk hair out and for length as long as it wasn’t a full wig. Could you possibly of been confused with this part of the rule…Good luck to all the finalists!! :)

  4. CarlK says:

Good point, yes hair wefts were allowed – wigs were not. So possibly that was confusing.

FYI – I was in London during the judging as part of the press, and I had a staff member on the FAME Team. I can tell you that nobody, absolutely nobody was allowed the near the judges or the collections. Trust me we tried to get a sneak peek – no way was the answer. So I believe that in that regards the process was fair and strict.

  5. hmmm... says:

Only children air there differences on public forums.

  6. private says:

You can see the Collections on AHJ on facebook

This comp like many others is all about Politics (notice its always the same salons up for finalists).

The Cheaters know who they are… Shame! and the worst thing is AHJ was informed and nothing was done about it… Good luck to the people who have entered their OWN WORK and not Cheated.

  7. Private says:

Does anyone know when the awards night will be held?

Headquarters is Brisbane and would appear to have been flooded – will this impact the preparations of the awards night?

Please keep the contestants informed as international and interstate guests are being arranged to attend.

    Last year’s was a HOOT!

  8. CarlK says:

The awards are scheduled for March 28th. You’re right though the AHJ office was devastated in the floods. See them on Facebook to keep up to date and to offer words of support – it’s a mess up there.

  9. JadeC says:

The awards are now being held in BRISBANE…
SUNDAY THE 27TH/3RD everyone should get an email soon

    GOODLUCK ALL…;)

  10. david says:

All comps are rigged! HBIA , biba always win college of the year, Rokk ebony always win salon of the year. its a joke!!! When eco hair were major sponsers tracey nryen always won, when eco pulled out she has never won an award since!!! The whole industry is crap!!! If you have $$$$$$ you can win any award. If you have the numbers at a comp you will win on points of how many staff you have. HBIA and IHS and every other comp is bull!!! If you are thinking how do i know?? I know!!! And Carl the judges alot of the time know whos work is whos!!!! i was a judge once and i am very well known but my concsence finnally got to me. I am no longer in Australia i have left because i know how HBIA accepts pay off from other salon groups. Its called donations!!!! More like buy me an award
