I have been in the hairdressing industry for over 17 years, and I’m slowly learning the process it takes to create a collection.
My first collections were always a mash of ideas. Then I would find girls who I thought were pretty enough, and try to bring it all together in front of the camera.

American Crew, the world’s leading manufacturer of professional salon products for men, celebrated the announcement of its 2011 FACE OFF Competition winners at Melbourne’s Tonic Bar in Crown Promenade on Monday, 7 February. Following its success in 2010, the biggest names in hairdressing have again flocked to be part of Hair Expo in 2011. Driven by stronger service and retail sales, the Professional Beauty Association’s (PBA) Salon & Spa Performance Index (SSPI) rose to 103.5 in the fourth quarter – up 0.2 percent from the third quarter and the second highest level on record. The SSPI is a quarterly composite index that tracks the health and outlook of the U.S. salon/spa industry. Following a modest decline in the third quarter of 2010, salon/spa owners are now becoming more optimistic with the future outlook of the beauty industry.
